LEYTON ORIENT WOMEN FC

1 Dec 2025

Another game off...

Not much of an update this time sadly, our Capital Cup (intermediate section) first round away tie at Chessington & Hook Utd was postponed for a second time - for the same reason as it was the first time - a waterlogged and unplayable pitch. However, for whatever reason: Leyton Orient have been awarded a "walkover win" to the next round.

These postponements have affected us in that each cup match puts us behind in the league table whilst everyone else is getting on with their league programme. As a result of this postponement, we've lost our top spot to perennial challengers Tooting Bec who ran out 3:1 winners against joint bottom club - AFC Leyton. That win puts Bec three points ahead of the Os but we do have three games in hand. We remain with six wins in six league games, with zero league goals conceded. Steph McCaffrey told http://lofcwomen.com that yet another Sunday without a game is "frustrating".

As an aside, this is Chessington's first season entering an adult women's team in a competitive league. In this case, they are in a Tier 7 league in Surrey. However, when Orient were required to start a new women's team in 2021, they were placed in the bottom league - effectively Tier 9 - despite the club having entered teams in much higher divisions for several years (albeit under someone else's registration). The Os had to win two promotions just to reach Tier 7. Not exactly a model of consistency from the league management perhaps?

Next up, on Sunday 7th December, the Orient ladies travel to Sporting Duet FC - One of four south London sides occupying the top five positions in the Greater London Premier division. Let's hope the combination of playing surface and weather will allow the game to go ahead. Duet lost 3:1 this weekend to an improving Luton Town Development side. Duet will need to step up some way to get something from the Orient stars. We look forward to Gizmo's match preview which will be posted here this Thursday.

Greater London WFL round-up.

Other than UCL Academicals (who were originally scheduled to play us), there was a full programme of Premier division games although the gathering winter weather did have an effect. The weekend's results were as follows:

Lge AFC Croydon P : P Comets WFC
Lge South London 5 : 1 Islington
Lge Luton Town 3 : 1 Sporting Duet
Lge Tooting Bec 3 : 1 AFC Leyton
CC Chessington A : W Leyton Orient

There are three more games before christmas, all are GLWFL premier division matches.
All Orient's results, league and cups, can be seen HERE . It is also available plus the official league table (and much more) via our Info and Menu page.

Lois Heuchan

Lois is the most recent signing made by the Os and, until now, we've not been able to find out too much about her football journey. With the aid of Microsoft's 'Co Pilot' AI (we're getting all hi-tech!) we're happy to pass on what the 21st century's version of Orwell's Big Brother has to say...

Lois Heuchan is a dynamic full-back whose blend of pace, strength, and experience has quickly made her a cornerstone of Leyton Orient Women’s defence. A product of Scottish youth internationals, she has played across leagues in England and France, including spells at Charlton Athletic, London City Lionesses, and Lewes FC, before joining Orient in 2025.

Renowned for her one-on-one defending, Lois consistently shuts down opposition wingers and brings composure to the back line. She also contributes in attack, overlapping down the left and delivering dangerous balls into the box — highlighted by her debut goals in Orient’s emphatic win over Islington Borough.

Her professional pedigree and leadership qualities raise the standard within the squad, while her versatility ensures she remains a reliable option in both defensive and attacking phases. Lois embodies the club’s ambition: resilient, competitive, and committed to pushing Leyton Orient Women forward.

So there you have it. We also know Lois can run 10,000 metres in around 36 minutes. I can't do that on a push-bike! Maybe downhill 🤪.
