Final Score

AFC Croydon 0:10 Leyton Orient With the score at 0:0 after 35 minutes, who would've thought this game could've ended up as a ten-nil result? During the first half, although the O's made better headway, Croydon almost gave as good as they got. They made little in the way of scoring chances but, by sheer hard work, they scotched the Orient steam-roller in a way that nobody else in the league has come close to doing. Perhaps that was their un-doing, they were so determined and they worked so hard for each other that, ultimately, there was nothing left to give. Anyway, we hope they'll accept a genuine "bravo" from us. They were brave, strong and determined in the face of the league's runaway team. Everyone on that pitch should be proud of what they achieved today, both in victory and in defeat. Larry Peterson caught up with head coach Jason Stephens after the game and said..."I’ve never seen anything like it in my life, How do you do it? Jason's answer ..."They don’t concede goals - I don’t let them!" Thank you for following along with us, we hope you've enjoyed being part of the 206 people who did the same today. We're going to switch off now, we hope to catch up again next Sunday. In the meantime, all the latest news can be found at lofcwomen.com

90+5 mins

F U L L - T I M E

With a final score of 10:0, our girls have poked their collective fingers into our eyes because we predicted a tough game with a fairly close score. Our man-on-the-touchline, Larry Peterson, thought 4:2 to the Os, I was leaning towards a tight 2:1 away win. What do we know!

90+2 mins

Still the ladies in green (our away kit) come forward. Wiktoria Kiszkis brings the umpteenth good save from the embattled home keeper.

90 mins

!!! G O A L !!!

That's 90 minutes as Wiktoria Kiszkis gets her hat-trick and the Os move into double figure territory.

87 mins

Croydon are exhausted, they've given everything. The keeper is saving plenty, one hit the crossbar, it's just an endless onslaught.

84 mins

!!! G O A L !!!

Showing that Orient's bench is every bit as strong as the starting players, Georgia Griffin gets a goal, sees it disallowed then get's one anyway. Whatever... it's 9:0.

82 mins

It's all Orient now as Wiktoria Kiszkis and Gemma Baker both force saves as they hunt for their own hat-tricks.

81 mins

Eva Carvalho continues to get minutes as part of her recovery programme, as she also brings out a good save from the home stopper.

79 mins

Poppy Binding in search of yet another hat-trick forces a good save from the Croydon Keeper.

77 mins

!!! G O A L !!!

Gemma Baker has clearly put on her shooting boots today and get's a classic driven goal from distance.

75 mins

Wiki Fronc, with another midfield dynamo performance, gets forward and hits a shot which the home keeper does well to parry.

65 mins

!!! G O A L !!!

Gemma Baker takes a break from her midfield duties to surge upfield and get herself on the scoreboard. Steph McCaffrey harries the defender into losing possession which is passed to Gemma who hits a peach to the top corner.
At 7:0, that equals the score when these two last met a few weeks ago.

63 mins

!!! G O A L !!!

Steph McCaffrey steps in to hit yet another. There was also one disallowed for offside.

60 mins

That's the hour mark and the Os are cruising now. Wiktoria's goal was the 86th league goal of the season (this is game 8) with just the single OG in the "against" column.

59 mins

!!! G O A L !!!

Wiktoria Kiszkis hits another to add to the ever growing Orient GD. It's a difficult day for AFC Croydon now.

58 mins

Nice run from Wiki Fronc which beats many players, she finds Georgia Griffin who shoots but it’s over the bar.

55 mins

The free kick comes to nothing. Orient are clearly in charge and, in view of the scoreline, there's a sense of 'coasting' from here. Croydon are a determined bunch and work hard for their team-mates but there's little attacking threat from them now.

52 mins

The corner is cleared but Os come back and get a free kick in an attacking position. Poppy Binding takes...

49 mins

Orient doing all the pressing, we have another corner.

48 mins

Poppy Binding hits one just wide following a corner.

47 mins

Steph McCaffrey gets a shot in but it lacks power, the keeper collects.

46 mins

We're off and running for the second half. Immediatley, Georgia Griffin stings the hands of the Home keeper.

H A L F - T I M E

From 0:0 at 38 minutes - then 4:0 at half time. Something of an unlikely collapse by the home side. Our suspoicion is that they put so much effort into matching the Orient collective skills, they've possibly started to run out of steam. See you in a few minutes....

45 + 3 mins

!!! G O A L !!!

Disaster for the home side, Wiktoria Kiszkis hits a goal-bound effort which is blocked but the ball rebounds to Poppy Binding who buries the chance. 0:0 seven minutes ago, now 4:0.

45 + 2 mins

!!! G O A L !!!

Wiktoria Kiszkis breaks the hearts of the Croydon ladies with a typical thumping volley which the keeper had no chance of stopping. Everything looks so different now.

45 + 1 mins

Poppy is tee'd up with a great chance but clears the bar.

44 mins

!!! G O A L !!!

Poppy Binding escapes her marker and does what she does best and makes no mistake with the chance. A bitter pill for the home side to swallow.

39 mins

!!! G O A L !!!

Commentator's curse- but in a good way! Steph McCaffrey breaks the deadlock.

37 mins

Still no real "should've scored" chances. The conditions are not ideal but both sides are making the best of things. Half time is on the horizon with the score at 0:0.

30 mins

As the half-hour mark approaches, we are finally seeing a match between two very good sides, very different but both effective in their own way. It looks as though they had someone watching our game at Duet least Sunday in that Poppy Binding is getting close attention from a fast and determined defender, space is at a premium for everyone.

15 mins

We're on hold at the moment as Liv McGregor took a full-force ball to her head. Ouch!

13 mins

This must be the longest of any league match that Orient have played without scoring. It's all looking 50-50 in the opening exchanges. Croydon are working very hard to close down, can they keep up this level of effort? No clear cut chances at either end yet.

10 mins

Both sides feeling their way a bit in this one, O's mostly on the front foot but Croydon look fast and confident so this is not the time to throw everything forward. The home side look bigger and physically stronger.

6 mins

Wiki Fronc hit a strong drive which was on target, the home keeper did well to push it behind for a corner.

04 mins

The early play could best be described as "determined". This one is going to be a battle,

01 mins

The game has started - 15 minutes late. Come on you Os!!!!

00 mins

We're still waiting for the kick-off. The reason for the delay is unknown to us. No sign of Lois Heuchan or Ellie Thomas-Leek

00 mins

Coach Stephens seems to be keeping a whole new attack on the bench with Lucy, Steph, Eva and Wiktoria waiting to make their presence felt at some point. Last week's six-goal hero Poppy Binding is leading the attack from the kick off today.

2 mins before kick off

Today's team sheet. Duroyaiye, Dilliway, Gillard (C), Griffin, Binding, Fronc, West, Lancaster, McGregor, Baker, Balfour. SUBS: Kiszkis, Carvalho, McCaffrey, Porter.

5 mins before kick off

Just waiting for the team sheet. Meanwhile, half of our crew are stuck in a jam on the South Circular. It's a shame we didn't get to play in the Essex league :-(

40 mins before kick off

Good afternoon everyone, welcome to the lofcwomen.com live text page for today's Greater London Women's Premier division match between AFC Croydon Athletic and Leyton Orient. Probably the toughest league game of the season so far, Croydon showed themselves to be young, fit and strong despite losing 7:0 in the reverse fixture a few weeks ago. Today they are at home and know what to expect - we expect a much closer game. The weather has been kind so that the game will go ahead but it won't be on a billiard table so the Os will need to change their style in order to meet the different challenges. A full compliment of lofcwomen.com people will be on site today to bring you all the news as it happens. More news will follow as we get it....

News from last week....

Our roving correspondent Larry Peterson will be at the ground, we'll be publishing his comments before, during and after the game (see above)
A latest score banner is locked at the bottom of your screen. As far as as we can tell, Croydon have not played for three weeks, it seems their home ground has a waterlogging problem. It has affected their men's team (Saturdays) and women's team on Sundays. We hope the recent dryer weather will help. In view of star striker Sammy Rowland needing a walking stick last week, it's safe to say our (and the league's) top scorer will not be available for this game. More news as we get it .....
