Varaždin Blues Festival - 2012 The 10th annual Varaždin blues festival played out in front of a full house on a hot summer evening (30 deg) at the Fontana Square. Opening the show were .... LEFTOVERS>. Who better?

Who are LEFTOVERS?
Starting with the youngest, Bassist/vocallist Marko Šac has plenty of strings to his bow. A talented guitarist in his own right, Marko is also heavily involved in digital recording in his self-built studio plus has written goodness knows how many songs, most of which are sophisticated jazz numbers. |

Next up is Mladen Plešnar who, like most drummers is rarely photographed without his head being completely obscured by his own symbols. Often seen about town on his trademark Harley Davidson, Mladen has been around the rock/blues scene since the 70s. Famous for his "feel" and sensitivity, he is one of those rare drummers who doesn't overdo the aggression.

Eugen Schaffhauser and his beloved left-handed "Blackie" Stratocaster.
Eugen has been on the scene with Mladen for a long time and has featured in many bands including "Cream Too" and "Brothers". An accomplished and experienced bassist and song-writer. Eugen has numerous self-written songs to his credit some of which are featured in the CD "In the light".

Settled in Croatia, Londoner Paul Fischer, the old man of the group, brings a background of bluegrass and country music to the mix and provides a contrast with his trusted Telecaster. Paul's songs and solos help bring a wider dimension than you will hear from the usual rock/blues band. In his own words... "I just want to pick guitar and sing a little".
