Leyton Orient 4:0 Spurs u19

Wiki1, Wiki2 and Poppy

Wiki Fronc (left) and Poppy Binding (right) and we reckon that's Wiktoria Kiszkis in between.

A match slated to be the final pre-season game was played at Leyton Orient Women's new home base of Cheshunt stadium. The opponents were the youth side from Tottenham Hotspurs, filled with young women footballers looking to play their way into Spurs' Super League side. The pre-match expectations were something of an unknown but there's no mistaking the fact that it was the ladies from E10 who ran out convincing winners. Two goals from Wiki Fronc, one from Poppy Binding and the other from "triallist" plus the added bonus of a clean sheet will have been just what the coaching team had hoped for. A most encouraging performance.
Given the people who are in the end-of-game photo (see above) then we're guessing that the three goal scorers are featured so that the "Triallist" must be the lass in the middle. Further investigations lead us to believe that is Wiktoria Kiszkis, more about her later.
We have some feedback from a few fans who attended the game who mostly told us that Orient were the better side and looked strong in all departments. That's what we like to hear.

New names in the squad

Wiktoria Kiszkis

Wiktoria Kiszkis

We spotted this name in the registered players' list on the website of the Greater London Women's Football League (GLWFL). That's the league where the Os play, we're in the top "premier" division. Wiktoria Kiszkis was born in Poland, her father moved to London in 2004 and he was joined by Wiktoria and her mother the following year. She displayed a real talent for football and was accepted into the Arsenal academy. In 2018–19 she played 13 times for Arsenal's youth team, scoring 30 goals and serving 23 assists. She has played international football at youth level for Poland. We know you'll join us in wishing her "Witamy w Leyton Orient". In case you are wondering, her name is pronounced Victoria KishKiss. If we are right, then Wiktoria scored on her Orient debut, start as you mean to go on eh?

Eva Cavalho

Eva Cavalho

The next few names appeared on the GLWFL registry as having signed up for Leyton Orient. Portuguese youth international Eva Cavalho also scored on her youth international debut. During 2021/2022, she played in England at Hashtag United so she'll know almost everyone in the team. Before that in 2020/2021 she was part of Millwall's London City Lionesses side having signed from Tottenham's youth set up. She missed a sizeable chunk of the 2023/24 season due to injury but it's hoped that is now behind her. Bem-vindo ao Leyton Orient — onde a paixão pelo futebol vive!

Emily Dilliway

Emily Dilliway

Emily Dilliway played for Charlton's u21 side during 2023/24. She left in 2025 and finds herself playing for an East London club. We suspect that Orient's recruitment includes players destined for the under 18s squad but who are also able to be called up for the first team as required. Hence the requirement to be registered with the GLWFL. Time will tell if we see Emily playing in the Premier league.

Olivia McGregor

Olivia McGregor

Another recruit who is registered with the GLWFL as an Orient first team player is Olivia McGregor. Based at Chatham Town FC, Olivia was loaned for a season to the London Lionesses (Aka Millwall) but returned to her home club at the end of her loan spell. Olivia now features in Orient's registration although, as in the case of Emily Dilliway (above), there was no press release from the club so we believe she also may be signed up primarily for the under 18s but has the experience to step up to the first team when needed.

Interview with Jason Stephens

A couple of days ago, the Leyton Orient media team posted an interview with the ladies' team head coach Jason Stephens. You can watch it on the club's website by clicking HERE but you will need a OneOrient account to view it. If you don't have an account, we have sent the audio to YouTube so you can listen in podcast style, without needing to sign up to anything. You can listen to it here on YouTube

Jason did raise some interesting points which raised an eyebrow or two here in the lofcwomen.com bunker. He is the head coach and CEO - all whilst part-time. He also stated "there's only one goal ... promotion! That's good to hear and it dovetails into his view (which we share) that the FA Women's National League (FAWNL) structure will have to be changed to reflect the realities on the ground and that we must be well positioned to make the most of any opportunities that may bring about. We strongly encourage you to listen to what he has to say.

Fixtures

The GLWFL has published the early fixtures but the league games do not start until the 14th September when we travel to Islington's ground at:
ST ALOYSIUS' COLLEGE SPORTS FIELD No 2, HURST AVENUE, LONDON N6 5TX.
That's over a month away but, as we understand it, there will be some cup competitions starting before the league programme but, as yet, we have no dates for those. Judging by what is happening further up the pyramid, it is possible that a number of teams will decide not to participate. For example, Selsey women's FC are (were) in tier 4 in the Division One South West but have decided not to compete in the coming season. There are others although they have yet to decide what action they should take. We'll take stock of the runners and riders over the next few days and see if we can make a complete fixture list. Stay tuned. We also have to update our web pages so that'll also happen over the next week or so.
