Brittany Varon joins the seniors
Leyton Orient Women's group expressed their delight as they to confirm the signing of Brittany Váron. The winger becomes Orient's seventh signing ahead of the new season, joining Gracie Hickman, Stef Paci, Lily Aungier, Freya Faulkner, Elissa Stonebrook and Amy Yeldham.
O's Women Head Coach Jody Buckley said: "Brittany has come through the pathway of Leyton Orient with the U18s and is a player we feel will follow our project and ethos this season. She's very talented and willing to learn, and we are really pleased to see her sign into the senior squad.”
Brittany added: "From a very young age I knew that football was my dream, and when I’m on the pitch I play with a hunger and desire to be the best. With all I’ve learnt from my previous teams and coaches, I’m looking forward to developing further under Jody. I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity and the faith they have given me. I can’t wait to get to work and see what this season has in store."

We've seen some excellent Under-18s move up to the senior team over recent years, among them are lightning attacker Sion Kamiende and Chloe Kabo, currently at London Lionesses (last we heard) and on her way to a professional contract.

6th Sept - Rnd 1 (Qualifying) of the FA cup.
The 6th September was originally scheduled to be a home game ER league game against Colchester Utd. However, the regional leagues, like ours, normally make way for the Women's FA Cup competition and so the Colchester league game will almost certainly be replaced with an FA cup tie against either MK Irish or Brackley Town. The league game will be re-scheduled to a later date.
Last season was the first time we were involved in the Women's FA cup having just sneaked into the last qualifying positions resulting from finishing fourth (the previous season) in the Greater London Women's Football league - Premier Division. This year we qualify due to our Tier Six status.
As a club from the "Regional" leagues, we have to endure three rounds of FA Cup qualifying in order to reach the first round proper - as we did last year. Us and South London Ladies were the only Tier 7 teams to reach the first round last season along with one or two Tier six sides. It's a tough competition.
Sunday's trials game
Yesterday, Sunday 2nd August, the senior women's team, the Under 18s team and a sprinkling of trialists played out three 20 minute stints at Great Baddow, near Chelmsford, in order to help Jody and Marc get some match minutes into the players and take a look at trialists and youth squad players.
The O's squad featured a pair of strikers who looked the part, we hope to announce their sign-ups to the club in the next few days. Some "good stuff" was played for the opening two x 30 minute stints, these also help everyone to reach match fitness. That's never easy to achieve and in view of the need to build an entirely new squad in a short time.... the ladies are doing well.
Next Sunday, the final opportunity for a pre-season game, we understand there could be a match against a women's team from SE Dons. It's early days yet so we don't have details of venue, kick-off time etc. As soon as we do, we'll post it right here on LOFCwomen.com
