Amy Yeldham joins the Os

Leyton Orient FC Women is delighted to confirm the signing of striker Amy Yeldham. The former Maldon & Tiptree player becomes Orient's sixth signing ahead of the new season, joining Gracie Hickman, Stef Paci, Lily Aungier, Freya Faulkner and Elissa Stonebrook.

O's Women Head Coach Jody Buckley said: "I’m really pleased to have gained the signing again of Amy. She won a clean sweep of awards with us at Maldon and is a very exciting and dynamic forward.

"She's extremely popular in the squad already, and will give us massive assurances in front of goal.”

Yeldham added: "I’m incredibly pleased to be joining Leyton Orient Women.

"After working with Jody last season and helping secure the Essex Tier Seven league title, I’m excited to be reunited with him, Stu and Marc for this new challenge.
I’m grateful for the faith they’ve shown in me, and I can’t wait to get started with this historic club. Up the O’s!"

Amy was crowned the Women’s Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season, following a remarkable campaign in front of goal for Maldon & Tiptree. 'Yelds', who had been a standout performer throughout the season, played a crucial role in Jody Buckley’s side winning the league title.

Pre-season fixture cancelled

This Sunday was scheduled to see a pre-season fixture between Welling Utd and Leyton Orient but, a few hours ago, we learnt that it had been cancelled. We don't know what happened but, frankly, it doesn't help us anyway. As far as we know, there are no other pre-season games booked up so the team will go straight into the first league match away at Toby Ladies having had just the two preseason games. Not ideal of course but we've seen a number of fixtures get called off in the region, perhaps recruitment is much more difficult this year than in seasons before?

Toby Ladies played in this league (Tier 6) last season and finished mid-table with a record of P-18, W-7, D-2, L-9 on 23 pts. They should provide a good measure of what to expect in the Eastern Region Division One (South).
