Pre-season fixtures

Things are taking shape at Leyton Orient Women in preparation for the up-coming season at Tier 6 in the Eastern Region WFL Division 1 (South). As everyone knows, last seasons "won everything" performance means we will now play in the highest league since the club was forced to re-start its women's group at Tier 9 in 2021.

There are a lot of players looking to be part of the Orient project but it's a bit too early for us to name names, we'll do that once the signatures are on the registration documents. To that end, this Sunday (12th July) will see the first formal pre-season game, there has been at least one "behind closed doors" trial as new coaching crew of Jody Buckley and Marc Wilson look to put all the pieces together in what will most likely be an almost complete overhaul of players. No pressure then!
Brentwood Town WFC are first up in pre-season
Brentford Town WFC players

Last season, Brentwood Town were promoted to the league above us so they'll be playing at Tier 5 in the Eastern Region Premier. They'll be looking to test their own recruitment progress in their first pre-season game. Brentwood are a very professional outfit from top to bottom having built their club the right way which attracted some top players from other Essex teams. We predict a stern test awaits both teams on Sunday.

Kick-off will be at 3:00pm at Brentwood Town's ground: "The Arena", Doddinghurst Road, Brentwood CM15 9NN.

LOFCwomen.com LIVE-TEXT coverage.

Our intrepid match correspondent, Larry Peterson, will be in attendance at Brentwood and will be passing on what he sees and learns from the day. We'll be re-broadcasting his comments plus a picture or two "live" during the match. We hope a member of the Jammers group will be working with Larry on the day. You can keep updated with Larry's comments by going to our LIVE TEXT show .

Meeting with the new crew

On Sunday June 28th, Larry and Your's truly (representing LOFCwomen.com) met with Jody, Mark, Stuart and Lee. This was an attempt to join together the fans of Leyton Orient Women with those of Maldon and Tiptree WFC - whose fan group are called "Jammers". The Jammers group had been an enthusiastic and hard working bunch of fans but they lost their club when legal proceedings were brought against the owners which, it seems, effectively closed everything down. Maldon and Tiptree do not appear in this season's list of competing teams. We're all trying to get the best of both worlds by joining up for the new season. The Jammers folk certainly have the content production skills and regional Essex know-how to help us all produce top quality news and support for Orient women's fans. This work will continue.
